Ramped Against IVDD

At the beginning of November, Schatzi at Luv My Dachshunds had an IVDD flareup that required back surgury and a long crate rest recovery. Her mom posted about IVDD and dachshunds. Her recommendations to avoid an injury are restrict jumping, stairs and your dachshund's weight. It's a very informative post. The post has a good picture of their ramp. If you are a doxie go read about it.

LOL. That look like a slide. You can sit on it and go weeeeee! The most fun part is that you get treats on top of having all the fun!

Hi Ruby. It would be good for beagles too. We have cervical problems and arthritis in old beagles--best to start saving the back as early as possible.

love & wags,
River

That is a pretty neat ramp! I wish The Owners would get one like that for the bedroom so I don't have to jump on and off the bed all the time!

What a fantastic ramp! I'm so glad you have one of those, Ruby, so you can keep your back healthy!

The Girl's before doggy Shea had a ramp for the last couple of years before she went to the Bridge. My Papa built one down the stairs to the back door, and then one down the stairs outside the backdoor. She had arthur-itis.

I have to tell you, Ruby, you have the most wonderful tail!

Brown dog kisses,
Dannan

Hi, Ruby!
I loved your video!
Your ramp is great!
Yes, we have to be very careful to avoid back injuries!
I have a bad thyroid that makes me gain weight so I am always on a diet!

Ramps are also nice for older dogs of all breeds--very helpful for getting on and off the people-bed, for instance.

Ah Ruby, you're well loved by other doggies too, and I'm your loyal fan.
Thanks for your corcern, I think my mom had some sadness lately but I don't understand why didn't she share it to other moms?
Don't worry, she comes out of it now, see, she helps me blogging again!
Please come back to my blog to pick up your Awards, take home as many as you can.
Cheers!
