We've been invaded!!!!!
by Black Flies. Today they used us for target practice. Mom had to pick the nasty beasties off of us. Poor Ruby's face has swelled up. The doctor has given her benedryl for the itching. Mom thinks she looks like a shar pei.
We're glad Black Fly season is only for about 4 weeks.

I can empathize. Black Flies are the reason we haven't been to visit my Granpawrents yes this year. You girls look beautiful as mini Shar Peis though.

I am soooo very much sorry that those horrible bugs bit you. That is awful. My mom went on the Thundershirt site. It looks a lot like my life jacket. She is thinking about sending away for a thundershirt for me. She said she MAY try putting my life vest on me and then letting Vacula out of the closet to see how that works. I don't mind my life vest at all. I have never worn it when I was not on my boat though. Thanks for the info..

Oh, Ruby - you made a tasty snack for those nasty black fies! We had them here - now we are into mosquito season! Mamma makes us stay indoors in the early mornings and evenings, cause that is when they come out in full force!!
Hope the benedryl takes effect - & don't scratch too much!

OMG, you poor girls! Mom knows how itchy those welts can be! We're thinking indoor activities for a month might be in order till the blackflies disappear! Bummer!

Are you putting anything on those bites? A dab of aloe vera gel is very soothing for them.
