On the day after my birthday, mom dropped me & Penny off at the kennel where I was born for a surprise stay, while she went shopping in the States with the human sister. We faired ok, but are very happy that mom is home. Mom is now on vacation for 4 weeks, Yahoo!!!

One year ago today.....

.....we started blogging. It's our 1st Blogaversary!!

How it all started.

This is Chloe. (no it's not me). She lives in the Big Apple. One day in the fall of 2007, shortly after my gotcha day, mom decided to do a google search, "miniature dachshund with overbite". Chloe's blog link was listed first. We both have overbites. Mom & I fell in love with Chloe and her blog. We have been regular readers since then. From Chloe's blog we followed a link to Franny, from Franny to Lorenza and then from Lorenza to Dogs with Blogs. We couldn't believe so many dogs blogged and I wanted to be one of them. We lurked around the Dogs with Blogs community for almost a year before mom helped me start this blog. The Dogs with Blogs community has been so welcoming, we had our first blogging friends by our second post.

To celebrate our Blogaversary, we are going to play Paw it Forward. Rambo & Midget Molly asked us to play with them.

The Rules. We never follow the rules, unless there are treats involved.

"The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient may, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'paw it forward' in their own way.

For our Paw if Forward we would like to scoop a great idea from Khyra. For every comment to this post, we will donate a dollar to a local rescue. New Hope Dog Rescue of Thunder Bay.

If you would like to continue the Paw it forward on your blog, please play with us. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness doesn't have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around." SO PAW IT FORWARD...

From all the comments we receive we will do a drawing and send 3 lucky bloggers a personalized Wubba. We sent one to Lorenza last year. You can see it in the pics. We will keep the post open until the 27th of July (another special day here) and post about our donation to New Hope Dog Rescue and the 3 lucky winners then.

Thanks for making blogging so fun.

A Sunday Stroll

This is a piece of land owned by the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital (LPH). People call it the LPH Field. We call it fun. It was an unused wooded area, until it was cleared to host the 1997 Canadian Boy Scout Jamboree. Now people use it as a recreation field. Walking, jogging biking, etc. The red oval is a gravel road that takes about an hour to walk. There is also access to Boulevard lake where we can go swimming. The LPH Field is a 5min walk from our house.

A vast walking area, with lots of sights and smells for curious minds.

Hurry up. Why are you stopping?

Follow us, as we take a walk around the track.

Synchronized smelling.
